According to sources cyclonic storm Ockhi has turned into a “deep depression” and may hit south Gujarat only as a “depression” yesterday. The deep depression was located around 240 kms south at southwest of Surat. The Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) forecast said “The deep depression over east central Arabian Sea moved further north-northeastwards with a speed of 18 kmph during the past six hours “.
According to sources Dharmapuri, Botad, Aravalli, Chhota Udepur, Dahod, Mahisagar, Sabarkantha, Navsari and Rajkot districts received rainfall on Tuesday and are likely to experience a wet spell over the next couple of days.
Presently BJP is banking heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to win the Gujarat Assembly polls, hence, despite warnings by the weathermen, he hold rallies yesterday in poll-bound state. Earlier Modi tweeted “Will be in Gujarat, where he addressed rallies in Dhandhuka, Dahod and Netrang”.
